The following map shows the itineraries of the known travels of some of the persons from BRASILHIS Database.

 


The lines are conventional representations of the itineraries, with junctions of arrival and departure points and intermediate points (when present). They are not detailed representations of the journeys.

Itineraries are grouped according to the main purpose of the journey: political, military, commercial and others.

When accessed, the map provides an overview of all recorded itineraries. Above the map there are two search bars.

  • The top bar (1) allows the selection of the persons to be consulted. Several persons can be selected at the same time by holding down the CTRL key.

  • The lower bar (2) allows you to perform a search according to the reason for the trip.

  • After having chosen the parameters, click on the SEND (3) button.

  • You can zoom in on the map image with the +/- button located on the left margin of the map (4).

The results will be reflected on the map as follows:


  • The geographical locations of each waypoint (origin, destination, stopovers) are represented by points/nodes (5).

  • If you click on the circles with number (6), a tree with points will be displayed; each of them contains information about the specific waypoint, which can be viewed by clicking on it (7).

  • Clicking on a route line displays a table with the basic information of the trip ( Person, reason, dates, origin-destination) (8).

NOTE: If after entering the parameters and pressing SEND the results do not appear on the map, try pressing SEND again or reload the page one or more times. Sometimes it is necessary to clear the cache to get the results (Ctrl + Shift + R).
