During the period of Spanish Habsburg rule of the Portuguese territories in the Atlantic, there was an intense iconographic production reflected in numerous printed documents, whether in the form of engravings, prints, etc., and also in the numerous images captured in oil paintings, cardboard, paper and a large number of other media. In this section of the BRASILHIS Database, we bring together all these representations in their various formats in order to get an idea of the image of this territory on the western shore of the Atlantic that took shape in the world at the time. The tool allows searches by author, title, subject, type, and numerous other fields.
